The Greatest Online Newsletter on the Internet

How are you?
Everything all right?
Like to hear from you.
Love to see you soon.
Obviously I miss you.

Hello again, and welcome to this weeks Edition of the Global Express.

After searching for many months, I think I finally found the perfect webset, that depicts the WWWCOF Global Express.

The newspaper with coffee cup symbolizes our weekly get-together to share all the news and stories from the members.

The right side of the page was originally the coffee color, that is the background colour of the bullets, but I changed ot to the Canada Background that is so familiar on all the WWWCOF sites.

I realized as time went on, I was just making more work for myself, by introducing a new background set each week. And, while esthetically pleassing. I found I was forgetting important elements as I did my copy & paste.

Hence this new background set will be the official Global Express newsletter set.

However, just to add a little splash of colour and excitement, when there is a special occasion, such as halloween, I will devote one page for that theme, which you will find in this week's issue.

Some of the permanent elements are the three boxes on the left.  The top two contain links totwo of the more important WWWCOF sites.

The third one has the familiar jump menu which will allow you to navigate to all the familar sections of the newsletter.

Below that is a separate link for the Halloween Page, and that will change whenever there is something special I want to feature.

I hope you enjoy the new look.  and would love to hear you comments.

I would like to thank all of you for contibuting this week. It makes for varied and interesting reading, as well as helping us keep in touch with one another.

And, makes my job easier.

So grab you favourite beverage and enjoy your new and improved Global Express.

FROM PAT'S JOURNAL:

I guess you've figured out by now that I love this peaceful little town where I live; the view, the people, the whole atmosphere.  However,  my live doesn't go by without some very interesting events.

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting on my couch, watching TV around 10:00 o'clock in the evevening.  When, all of a sudden I felt & heard  this very loud crash!.

I went to the door and looked out, and the young fellow from next door, was littlerally backing into the support post of my carport!

I came in immediately and called the motel manager, and left a message, about what had happened.

I went back out, and there was young Dean, standing, scratching his head with this look of complete surprise on his face.

I said, looks like you really made a mess of things here.  He replied, umm, yeah I guess I did.  It didn't take me long to asses the situation, and conclude, he had imbibed in one to many "wobbly pops".

The whole carport was leaning towards the back, the front post was laying on the ground, I wasn't sure what to do.

I decided to just go to bed.  I was just dozing off when I thought I heard a knock on the door, and sure enough, there was Julia, the motel manager.  She thanked me for lettung her know, and said the young men felt really bad. I noticed the support post had been put back, so the roof wouldn't cave in.

The next day the boys came home and immediately set to work to fix everything.  Dean was so apologetic, it was kinda of cute really.  So at least, I din't have to worry about the whole carport, collapsing.

Everything was fine for a few days, then late last week Sharon came over and we went garage saling. When we returned she was backing up to park along side the carport (where she alsways parks), as she got closer, I told her be careful, you're going to hit the post. she assurred me she had lots of room!  NOT, the next thing we flet was a bump!  Sure enough. she had knocked the  same post the boys had. I couldn't help but laugh.  She did the exact same thing the boys did, only in daylight and sober!

Well needless to say, it was quite the topic of conversation around here, and of course the boys felt vindidcated.

the next couple of days were neventful, till this past Monday I was taking Max for a walk, when I notied one of the front windows, on mey neighbours unit on the other side, was broken.  I was really concerned as they have two large dogs and I figured they must have jumped through the windwo.

Once again I called Julia, who in turn called here backup manager to come over and try to fix the glass temporarily.

Meantime, I went back outside, and there is this fellow named Dave with Abbey (one of the dogs) on a leash. Apprently the other dog, Buddy was still inside. The window got fixed, the dogs locked inside, and everything was fine.  Or so I thought.

About an hour later, there was a knock at my door, and there was Dave, once again, with Abbey.  This time she had pushed open the bedroom window, and jumped out again!

Dave offered to keep her in his fenced yard, until the owners returned home.

Finally around five, Jamie (the dogs owner) came home, so iwent over the explain all that had happend.  I gave jim Dave's phone number so He could go retrieve Abbey.

It wasn't 10 minutes later, I looked out the window, and who's walking around out there, but Abbey. who yet again had run away!

I had no alternative but to bring her in to my place until Jamie returned.  But let me tell you, Max was not impressed with this arrangement at all!

So much for my peaceful exisitence. lol

However, there is one more slightly different event. The next day I was talking to Jamie and Diane (his partner).  and the annouced they had just gotten Married!  The Marraige Commissioner of BC had just left their home after performing the ceremony!

Now, how cool is that?

Until next week, (hopefully with some more, not so exciting news)

Pat
